My Philosophy
I believe that to understand something, anything, you must break it down, take it apart, and explore what makes it tick, observing all those little cogs and springs. To make a perfume, you have to trample thousands of rose petals and distill their essence into a tiny glass bottle. Writing and marketing share this similarity, uncovering the core of the creative process. Then, you envelop the core with a concept directly derived from it. I always like to think of this as a harmonious symbiosis.
Next, you develop what you need from said symbiosis – a brand, a project, a representation in a particular medium. It's a chain basically. Chains are forged. That clever idea/ad/function has to link to the concept. That out-there concept has to link to the core.
This is what I believe in; this is what I'm passionate about – marketing as an expression of all those rose petals, and writing in conjunction with certain principles. In this context, the text must link to the core. The text is a medium.
Life
I was born on a savage island in The North. I spent my youth roaming the streets of Reykjavik before a volcanic eruption, no one in the world could pronounce, and a brilliant marketing ploy from Icelandair made that cold, forlorn realm the hottest place to be.
Things got even hotter when I met a cute American girl in a bar, and, in a very unexpected twist, proceeded to star in my own real-life rom com by relocating to NYC, getting hitched, and chasing The American Dream.
I then launched a campaign to integrate myself fully into the Land of the Free. have since amassed the portfolio before you, working with diverse clients like Microsoft, Pure Protein, and award-nominated cannabis brands on developing brand architecture and executing a social media strategy. I have a keen sense of words but no sense of smell.
